Aspiring to connect women, often divided by cultural, linguistic, economic and political differences. Inspiring ordinary women to become involved in some way to make a difference to the world we live in, to bring about change for the better in as small or as significant a way as they are able. Encouraging women to express themselves, represent themselves and realize their full potential. We don’t all have to make History, but collectively we can make Herstory better. This site hosts information on Bolton’s annual International Women’s Day Festival and also the Bolton Women’s Forum. You will also find information on how to join either of these groups. Or maybe you would like to let us know about other Women’s Groups, projects or events you are involved in. Women’s Festival Looking for New Leadership
The Women’s Festival Steering Group met for the last time on 30th June 2008. An AGM had been planned for that date, but unfortunately membership has dwindled and no new members were elected onto the committee. The remaining members are offering the Women’s Festival and its website up to be taken over by a group or organisation who wishes to continue with this very worthwhile event. We would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who has been involved and supported the women’s festival in Bolton and made it the success it has been. Thank you to all the organisations and individuals who have taken part and made the event so diverse and rewarding. Any group or organisation interested in taking over the Women’s Festival please contact: Arts Development Officer, Bolton Council on(Mon – Weds) Ideally groups would need to be constituted and have a bank account. | |||||
